How to get your ER:LC API key

Every Discord bot that reads an ER:LC private server, from staff tools to CADs to economy bots, needs the server key from the ER:LC API pack. The key is a long secret string that belongs to one private server. The pack costs 600 Robux, bought once per private server.

  1. Buy the API pack for your private server

    In ER:LC, open the menu, then Servers, Owned Servers, pick your private server and choose Upgrade Packs, then API Pack. It costs 600 Robux at the time of checking. You buy it once per private server.

  2. Copy your server key

    Join your private server, open Settings and search for "API key" under the ER:LC API section. Copy the key. The key only appears once the API pack is active.

  3. Give the key to Metro

    Add Metro to your Discord server, then run /setup with your key and a staff log channel. You need the Manage Server permission. Metro checks the key with PRC, stores it encrypted, never shows it again and posts a test card in the log channel.

  4. Authorize Metro in ER:LC

    The /setup reply includes an authorize link. Sign in at api.erlc.gg/server-owners with the Roblox account that owns the private server, then open the link and approve Metro so it can send in-game messages. If PRC shows "No servers found", you are signed in with the wrong Roblox account or the server has no API pack.

Connect it to Metro

In Discord, run /setup key:<your key> log_channel:<#staff-log>. Pick a staff channel for the log. Metro then reads your server every few seconds, and an optional template (Light, Standard, Full RP, Civilian City or Strict RP) sets up the economy. Keep the key private

Whoever holds the key can read your server and run commands in it. Only give it to bots you trust. PRC's advice: if you stop using a bot or think the key leaked, reset it in the same Settings screen under the ER:LC API heading, then run /setup again with the new key.

If something goes wrong

  • “PRC says that Server-Key is wrong or expired.” Copy the key again from Settings. If you reset the key, use the new one.
  • “PRC is having trouble right now.” PRC's API is down or slow. Try again in a minute.
  • Metro can't post the test card. Give the Metro role View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links in the log channel.

Staff running the server day to day will want the list of ER:LC private server commands.
